Problems we solve
Built for a practice with a waiting room
Missed appointments cost more than most practices track. We look at how reminders go out, how patients reach a person rather than a queue, and whether the phone system is the reason your no-show rate looks the way it does.
We have a short write-up on this, how voice solutions improve patient attendance rates. Ask on the contact form and we will email it over, usually the same working day.
How a typical setup works
What we usually configure for a medical practice. Every practice is different, so we set it up with you rather than from a template.
Each call type to the right team
A short menu sends appointments to reception, prescription requests to the nurse line and test result questions to clinical admin, so nobody has to transfer a call twice.
A plan for an internet outage
If the internet drops, calls go automatically to a cell phone you choose in advance. It is set up on day one rather than arranged during an outage.
A person rather than a queue
Calls ring a group of staff rather than one extension, and you decide what happens when everyone is busy, so patients reach a person whenever someone is free.
Voicemail with transcription
Messages arrive in email as text as well as audio, with access limited to the staff who should see them.
Genesee County
Working locally
We work with practices throughout Genesee County, including Flint, Grand Blanc, Fenton and Davison. Being local matters more here than in most industries, because a phone system that is down in a medical practice is not an inconvenience, it is patients who cannot reach you. Our technicians are in Michigan, so a site visit is a drive rather than a scheduling exercise.

Incredible service, fast response and local support that beats being sent to 1-800 number.
What we would look at
Questions we get asked
- Is the phone system HIPAA compliant?
- The platform supports the technical safeguards a practice covered by HIPAA needs, and Intermedia will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA), the contract HIPAA requires. Compliance is not a product you buy though, it depends on how the system is configured and who has access to voicemail and recordings. We set that up with you rather than leaving it at defaults.
- Can we reduce no-shows with better phone handling?
- Partly. Reaching patients reliably and letting them reach a person rather than a queue both help. The bigger wins are usually in reminder workflow, which is why we look at how your reminders go out as well as how calls come in.
- What happens to calls if the internet goes down?
- Calls automatically go to a number you choose, usually a cell phone. That is configured up front rather than being something you scramble to arrange during an outage.
