Why the cable matters more than people think

Almost every intermittent network fault we get called out to turns out to be physical. A cable that was never tested, a short cable crushed in a door frame, a cable bent too tightly during a renovation. The symptom shows up as a slow application or a call that drops, so it gets blamed on the internet or on the phone system, and someone spends money replacing the wrong thing.

Testing is the difference. A certified cable comes with results showing it meets the standard on every pair of wires. That document is what lets you rule the cable out on the day something breaks, instead of guessing.

Example certification result

Second floor, office 14 Cat6a data cable

Let us help with your next project

  • New installations

Office build-outs, expansions and new construction. Cat6 and Cat6a network cable installed to current industry standards and finished neatly at a central panel, not left in a tangle in a closet.

  • Certification and testing

Every cable tested and certified, with the results handed to you as a document, not a verbal assurance.

  • Remedial work

Upgrades and repairs to existing infrastructure where a full replacement is not warranted, including replacing worn connectors and relabeling.

  • Racks and cleanups

Network cabinets installed and cables organized, so the next person who opens the rack can see what is going on.

  • Fiber between floors and buildings

Fiber optic links between floors and buildings, where regular network cable will not reach.

  • Voice and camera cabling

Cabling planned alongside the phone system and camera positions, because we install those too.

How a project runs

  1. 01

    Free site survey

We walk the building, so the quote is based on what is in the walls rather than on a floor plan.

  2. 02

    A fixed quote

What the job involves, in writing, before anyone starts.

  3. 03

    Installed around you

We work around your hours where we can, including evenings and weekends for occupied sites.

  4. 04

    Every cable tested

Each cable is certified, and anything that fails is fixed before we leave.

  5. 05

    Handover

You get the test results and a record of where every cable runs, so the next person knows what is where.

Genesee County

Where we work

We cable commercial buildings throughout Genesee County. A lot of the commercial stock in this area is older, and what is already in the walls varies enormously between buildings that look similar from outside. That is why the survey comes before the quote rather than after it.
