How a typical setup works
What we usually configure for a manufacturer. Every plant is different, so we set it up with you rather than from a template.
Paging from any extension
Overhead paging connects to the phone system, so a page to the plant goes out from any phone in the office rather than from one fixed microphone.
Cordless handsets on the dock
Shipping and receiving carry cordless handsets, so a carrier's call reaches the dock instead of ringing out in an empty office.
Hardware for noisy areas
Handsets and headsets are chosen for the noise on your floor. That is a hardware question we answer during the site survey.
Cabling for the whole site
We run and certify the cabling ourselves, including fiber between buildings where regular network cable will not reach, so the office and the floor are on one network.

- Can you cover the plant floor as well as the office?
- Yes, and it is usually the same job. Floor coverage tends to need a mix of cordless handsets, overhead paging and sometimes rugged phones built for the plant floor, and it depends on cabling that we run and certify ourselves.
- Will the phones work in a noisy environment?
- With the right hardware. That is a handset and headset selection question rather than a platform question, and it is one of the things we look at during the survey.
- Can we page the whole plant from the office?
- Yes. Overhead paging can be integrated with the phone system so a page goes out from any extension rather than from one dedicated microphone.
